H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has given his approval for the architectural design of two innovative and eco-friendly football stadiums, marking a significant milestone in Dubai’s sporting infrastructure development.
Located in the Al Rawayyah 3 and Al Jaddaf areas, these stadiums will cater to the future needs of Shabab Al Ahli and Al Wasl football clubs, with each boasting a capacity of 20,000 spectators.
The Shabab Al-Ahli Stadium in Al Ruwayyah 3 features a striking avant-garde design, showcasing a circular roof supported by columns inspired by the moon and outer space. Surrounding greenery adds to its aesthetic appeal, while eco-friendly systems and smart city requirements are seamlessly integrated into its design.
Meanwhile, the Al Wasl Club Stadium in Al Jaddaf adopts a visionary ‘city within a city’ design concept. Sustainability is central to its design, with open spaces and sports fields seamlessly integrated.
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, emphasized the project’s importance in supporting the development strategies of Dubai’s premier football clubs and nurturing local talent.
No specific completion dates have been announced yet, but a team comprising officials from Dubai Sports Council, the Roads & Transport Authority, and Dubai Municipality will oversee the construction process and select a specialized firm for the job.
This approval underscores Dubai’s commitment to enhancing its sporting achievements and solidifying its position as a leading global sports hub. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development, as Dubai continues to elevate its sporting infrastructure to new heights.
